One thing not to miss if you choose Grindelwald-First as your winter holiday destination: eternal snow of the glaciers.

There are few places in the Alps so close to glaciers. Climbing with the gondola to 2,167 feet high, you can admire a splendid view of the upper and lower Grindelwald glacier, but also peaks over four thousand meters, such as Finsteraarhorn, the Schreckhorn the Lauteraarhorn and Fiescherhorn.

A cable car from Grindelwald leading up to the First, via Bort and Schreckfeld. In 17 minutes you can climb to 1,100 meters and cover more than 5 km. Once in place of the cable car, built in 1991, there was a historic chairlift leading to the 120 km of slopes in the area and over 100 km of trails for hikers in summer.

Special features of the area, the First Flieger, an air transport system of ropes called Zip Rider. 4 people, hovering in the air simultaneously, independently of each other, make a rope harness and go along for 800 meters at a maximum speed of 84 km / h. The First Flieger is open both summer and winter and can be practiced by all!
