Skiing Veneto - Ski resorts Veneto

Monte Civetta, Cortina d'Ampezzo and Marmolada: these three outstanding ski resorts are a household name for most winter athletes.

The ski resort Monte Civetta is among the biggest in the Dolomites. Adventuresome lift constructions take skiers and snowboarders up to the highest areas. 80 kilometers of ski runs wind between jagged rocks down the valley - a paradise for ski vacationists.

Cortina d'Ampezzo, however, is the measure of all things for the Italians. The Olympic Winter Games took place there in 1965. Then lots of infrastructures and above all many cable cars were built then.  Unfortunately, many of these facilities are no longer up to date as new investments have not been made. Nonetheless, skiing in Cortina d'Ampezzo is just great because of the breathtaking views and the high quality of the ski runs.

The Marmolada ski resort is an area of superlatives: the highest mountain in the Dolomites and a 12 km long ski run, one of Europes’ longest. The choice of runs is almost limitless: fast, steep ski runs for real experts but also easy slopes for beginners.

Veneto is perfect for ski holidays. For cross-country skiers, there are lots of trails, free-riders and extreme snowboarders find some great free-ride areas for instance in Val Lasties Valley and in Val Mezdì Valley.
