Moon toboggan run in SkiWelt Söll

16/12/2011

The firmament is full of shining stars, the full moon lights up the landscape, here and there a shadow slips by and sometimes you can hear a rustling and crackling between the trees. At night the winter forest is a very special experience – especially, if you dash through the darkness on a sledge.

In this winter the skiing area of SkiWelt Söll offers not only the tricky Hexenritt run, but also the new Moon toboggan run. It is about 3.8 kilometers long and up to 6 meters wide, goes from the mountain pasture Stöcklalm to the valley station of Söll and is open from Wednesday to Sunday exclusively in the evening from 6.30 to 10.30 pm.

Here, moonlight sledging is very funny, because the Moon toboggan run is easy and well lit, so that young and older tobogganers will go down without any difficulty. A fixed snow-making system guarantees that there is always enough snow and three stops designed on the subject of moon and night invite the whole family to have a break.

Moreover you don’t have to do the 370 meters of difference in altitude on foot, but you’ll easily reach the starting point next to Stöcklalm with the cable railway Hochsöll. Some rustic mountain lodges with warm parlors and a sledge rental next to the valley station complete your nightly toboggan excursion.

For the ascent with the cable car are valid other rates, the normal tickets aren’t valid. For all those, who would like to go tobogganing also during the day, SkiWelt Wilder Kaiser-Brixental offers several other toboggan runs, partly reachable by cable car, partly on foot.
