Fairy-tale week in Stubai
The Stubai Glacier is well known for skiing during winter, but also during summer it is an attractive destination for visitors from all over the world. This year once again, it offers the site for the week of fairy-tales. At the end of July and the beginning of August you might meet some of those magical characters on the heights of Stubai Glacier.
From 29th of July till 2nd of August you might come across the one or other mythical creature in and around Stubai. During this particular week, special guides and storytellers take kids and families on different walking paths on the trails of fairies, dwarfs and the like.
The experienced storyteller Margarethe Wenzel and a crew of actors in skillfully crafted outfits will take you into the colorful world of Grimm's tales. Participation is free of charge, only the lift rides have to be paid.
On Monday, the 29th of July, the week of fairy-tales begins with a spectacular hike and selected stories of the Brothers Grimm. Every participant can build a treasure chest on site, which – depending on participation – can potentially get fuller and fuller over the week. The next day, participants have the chance to be a part of an interactive theatre play, great fun for both kids and parents.
On Wednesday talented make-up artists get the paint on children. After hearing a few tales, they paint the hikers’ faces with designs inspired directly by the world of fairies, knights and dragons.
The week is already coming to an end, but in Stubai the show must go higher and higher. On Thursday, a thrilling live show is scheduled on Stubai Glacier. The fire show on Friday finally concludes the event, and the participants with a full treasure chest get a little surprise!
