To conclude the winter season in a good way South Tyrol’s skiing mountain no. 1 – Mt. Kronplatz – on Sunday, 22nd April 2012, celebrates the funny, a little bit crazy and most of all wet festival called "Locknfest".
At the end of the winter season many experts of the sector ski rental and ski service will meet at the exhibition center in Bozen, in order to exchange their experiences at the international trade fairs "Prowinter" and "Alpitec" and to present the novelties for the next year.
For most of the ski races the participants have to start in different categories according to age, male/female etc. However, for the Rivella Family Contests that’s not the case, because there all members of the family can show together how they can move on skis or snowboards. To conclude the winter and at the same time as finale of this year’s Family Contest season the popular family event takes place in Arosa.

The simplest model of this sports equipment consists of a short ski, a seat and two grab handles. As soon as you have mastered the quite easy riding technique, you can use your "Böckl" even for (more or less serious) speed competitions – as the "Böckl" race on Mt. Kronplatz impressively proves.

As regards the weather of course we are in the middle of the middle autumn. However they days already are noticeably shorter, in the morning you have to remove the ice from your windscreen, you’ve probably taken out your warm jumpers and boots and in many places the snow guns work at full stretch. It’s high time to dust also skis, snowboards, snowshoes and sledges and think about the first skiing days in this winter.
Keep one’s fingers crossed, watch with excitement, hope and celebrate: For passionate winter sportsmen the races of the Ski World Cup - Downhill, Super-G, Slalom, Giant Slalom and Super Combined - are more exciting than a TV thriller. If you want to see them live, you are spoilt for choice, because many ski races take place in the Alps.
If you wait eagerly for the opening of the new winter season, you will surely like the offer made by the valley of Schnals in South Tyrol. One the one hand the snow-sure ski runs on the glacier are open almost all year round. On the other hand the winter is welcomed with a very special event: the telemark ski opening from 25th to 27th November 2011. A must for free-heel fans!
