The spa town Meran is the center of the region Burggrafenamt and one of South Tyrol’s main attractions due to the thermal bath, the Mediterranean climate and the wonderful gardens of Trauttmansdorff Castle. Only a few minutes by car from there are located the tranquil villages Hafling and Schenna, where you can get into the skiing area Meran 2000.

Meran 2000 is part of the association Ortler Skiarena. With its snow-sure and relatively easy slopes it is considered as considerable skiing region, especially for families. The majority of the ski runs on the sunny mountain pasture between 1,600 and 2,300 m above sea level are red ones, therefore family-friendly and harmless.

In the lower sections of Meran 2000 the pistes pass through dense forests, in the upper sections however there are broad slopes for carving- and unhurried skiers. Only a few black ski runs such as the downhill from Mt. Mittager are exclusively reserved for pros.

So if you would like to spend a carefree and relaxing skiing holiday with the whole bunch of rascals, in the skiing area Meran 2000 you will be in good keeping.
