The mountain pass Arlberg has seen many people, including Roman legions, crusaders, popes and kings. In medieval times it was a major trading business. The name Klostertal goes back to the 13th century, when the “Hospitaler” monks founded a “Klösterlin”, a shelter or hostel for travelers and merchants.

Nowadays Klostertal, Sonnenkopf and the resorts Braz, Dalaas, Wald, Danöfen, Klösterle, Langen and Stuben offer peaceful and relaxing holidays. But that’s not all. In Klostertal you can also find great slopes and the maybe - on Mt. Albona - one of the most rewarding powder snow area of the Alps. And from there you can easily access the mighty skiing area of Arlberg.

The ski resort Sonnenkopf is small and an ideal terrain for the whole family. It offers a perfect mix of easy ski runs for practice and some tricky downhill runs on the eastern hillside. On Mt. Glattingrat at about 2,300 meters above sea level, professional skiers with lots of endurance will find a long slope down to Klösterle. The ski runs on the almost treeless Mt. Albona are, however, one of the most beautiful deep powder snow paradises in the Alps.
