More action, more fun, more sun! This is the motto of skiing on Mt. Goldeck in Carinthia. The 2,142 meter high mountain is considered as one of the sunniest and most sporting meeting points for winter sport fans in the region.

In the skiing area Goldeck brilliant sunshine, perfectly groomed pistes and a fantastic view to the mountains around the region of Lake Millstadt mostly are the order of the day. The ski runs of the local mountain of Spittal an der Drau are located on the north-western slope and below the neighboring Mt. Seetalnock. Modern, new ski lifts, among them a chairlift with super panorama, take skiers up to the peak.

The upper area between mountain top and middle station is dominated by blue and red ski runs. Farther down experienced skiers can do the full monty. The simple name “descent into the valley” doesn’t give an idea, but the black sign makes clear that it is no variant for beginners. Quite the reverse: With impressive 8.5 kilometers length and a difference in altitude of 1,600 meters it is the longest black slope in the Alps.

Another special quality of a skiing holiday at Mt. Goldeck is the more than 50 hectare large freeride area for those skiers and snowboarders, who don’t always like to ride on hard snow, but also on wonderful powder snow.

If you, however, still are uncertain and/or don’t have all the suitable winter sports equipment at your disposal, you can draw on the offer of the Goldeck Sport Academy with ski school and ski rental. Several rustic ski lodges and mountain restaurants, natural and artificial ice skating rinks, cross-country courses and toboggan runs around Lake Millstadt complete your winter holiday.

Not forgetting the sport and adventure pool “Drauperle” that invites to spend some relaxing hours after a sunny day on the slopes and the pleasant town of Spittal with castle, Christmas market, many shopping facilities and much more.
